Denim is the rare runway trend you can actually test drive without commitment, and fall 2026 brings five distinct directions. 1. Dark rinse wide-leg: the clear winner
Dark, clean, and cut wide through the leg, this is the most wearable denim of the season. It reads as polished with loafers and a blazer, relaxed with sneakers, and the dark rinse hides wear between washes. Wide-leg also survives trend cycles better than extreme shapes because it is a proportion, not a gimmick. If you buy one pair this fall, make it this one.
2. Straight-leg in mid wash: the safe upgrade
Not exciting, which is the point. A true straight leg in a mid-blue wash goes with everything you already own and will not look dated in three years. The fall 2026 versions sit slightly higher on the waist and break just at the shoe, a small refinement that keeps the classic current.
